Luke 2:20 gw

The shepherds didn’t seek to become celebrities for what they saw.
It seems that though they were given a wonderful gift they remained humble men.
They went back to their flock praising God and giving Him the glory.
I would love to have sat around their fire and hear them tell the story.
This is something I look forward to when I meet them.

Do you think about the people you may meet in eternity?

Psalm 138:6 esv

branches-238379_640God’s thoughts and ways are highest of the high.  He has no equal.
Yet, He sees the humble and knows their gentle unassuming hearts.
He is near to them. He cares for and watches over them.
The arrogant He is distant from for they think they have no need of Him.

Is there someone you know who is proud and self-centered?
Will you pray for them to see their need of God?

Blessings this day of grace,

Isaiah 42:2 niv

The Lord’s servant does not use pomp and pageantry
or noisy street demonstrations to tell of his Lord.
He doesn’t boast or show-off.
He is quiet, gentle, and humble in his ways.

It is often exciting to see big loud showy presentations but is the show
the main event or the message?
Who do you listen to most attentively the braggart or the humble?

James 4:10 esv

To humble ourselves before the Lord we must recognize
that our worth comes from Him.

If we are proud of who we are and what we do without acknowledging
His guidance we deny His power and place in our lives.

Without the Lord we are and have nothing of any worth.
With the Lord we are lifted up and wealthy beyond imagining.

Do you praise God and give Him the glory
for all you are , for all you have
and for all you do, be it small or grand?

Do you know you are not worthy of His grace
but because of it you are of great worth?
