I love that “down in your heart” kind of joy that is so different than mere surface happiness, which is fleeting and not usually of great substance. Joy comes from having a dificulty resolved, a prayer answered, from connecting with others, sharing and helping others, from witnessing the great beauty and majesty of God’s creation right down to his furry creatures! 🙂
It is a blessing to have His presence and His joy in our hearts. Sadly, I often let the cares of the day push aside the joy. I am glad the Spirit is stronger than me and the joy bubbles up and reminds me of who is in charge and that all will be well with my soul.
